Happy 4th Birthday / 8 weeks post op
Today is Roberts 4th birthday. He had a great day and is still bouncing around the house thanks to his chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake.
At 8 weeks post op here is where we stand. Of course the medpor outer ear is still looking the same because of the skin graph shrinking. We will try and schedule a stage 2 soon for hopefully this summer. The skin graph behind the left ear has finally sealed and we are hoping it will heal up now. The canal narrowing problem seems to be at a halt thanks to finding better ear plugs to use with the cream. Everything at the moment seems to be settling and boy I am happy about that! Thanks to everyone again for any help or kind words you have given us. They are always welcome and very much appreciated.

7 week update
We found out a week and a half ago that Robert would need a stage 2 surgery. His skin graph on his new medpor ear is shrinking which is something we were told could happen prior to surgery. The top of his ear is not poked out but attached to his head which is pushing the medpor framework out on the bottom. Also Roberts skin graph site on the back of his normal ear won't heal. This last week we are also having issues with his canal opening getting to small. Our local ENT has taked to the CEI and they are trying to get it to stay open by using a plug with a steroid cream on it. These events have my stress level elevated very high.
On a good and positive note Roberts first hearing test was fabulous!!!

Post op 4 weeks and 4 days
Got a message back from Dr. Reinisch last night saying to stop using the vasoline and send more pics in a month. I guess that means everything looks good.
We took Robert to the ENT today to get the last of the packing out. He sat perfectly still playing his DS on daddys lap. The ENT said things look good and on the next cleaning appointment we can get a hearing test too.
The canal was completely clogged when we took him today. We can now see the canal again. To us the hole looks pretty small but we dont really know what exactly its suppossed to look like. Since the ENT says it looks good then thats good enough for us. The ear looks better and better each day. I can only imagine in another month how it will look.
